Mayo Portland Adaptability Index (MPAI-4)
OVERVIEWGOAL(s)OUTCOMES: |
The Mayo-Portland Adaptability Inventory (MPAI) is a clinical assessment tool designed to assist clinicians in the evaluation of function in individuals with acquired brain injury (ABI) during the post-acute stage of rehabilitation.
The MPAI-4 consists of 35 assessment items: The first 29 items are designed to capture the individual’s current status without taking into consideration, outside factors not related to the ABI. These 29 items are broken down into 3 subscales: the ability index, the adjustment index and the participation index. The additional 6 questions are not scored and are intended to capture additional factors unrelated to the ABI that may affect the individual’s current presentation. In addition to strengthening the clinical assessment process for individuals in the post-acute phase of recovery from an acquired brain injury (ABI) for program / service delivery improvement, programmatically, MI Rehab Solutions utilizes this assessment tool, and the results provided, to recognize areas of strength along with opportunities for program improvement.
