Specialty Evaluations & Consultations

In addition to therapy services and rehabilitation/recovery supports provided, MI Rehab Solutions offers the following specialty evaluations/assessments and consultations: 


HOME ACCESSIBILITY/ SAFETY

​Home Accessibility / Safety Evaluations may be completed as requested, referred, and prescribed. 

The goal of each comprehensive assessment is to optimize functional independence, mobility, comfort and safety, tailored to the current and future individual needs.

Accessible home modifications may range from minor changes or equipment, (i.e. grab bar installation, offset hinges), renovating parts of the home or a room such as the bathroom or kitchen, or may be more extensive such as designing and building an addition to the home,  or consideration of accessible design and construction of a new home when appropriate.

​​Attendant care is a lifetime benefit (do not expire) and includes:
  • Safety and supervision
  • Medical transportation
  • Mobility assistance
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Toilet needs
  • Showering
  • Personal hygiene
  • Feeding
  • Medication management
  • Assisting with home exercise programs
  • Other care or assistance prescribed by a doctor

ATTENDANT CARE/
REPLACEMENT SERVICES

Specialty evaluations to evaluate and make recommendations for attendant care and/or replacement services as reasonably necessary and a result of the motor vehicle accident may be provided as requested/referred and prescribed, as a benefit of the Michigan No Fault Act/Reform.  

Replacement service benefit, expiring 3 years status post date of injury, applies to services provided by a professional or a family member for tasks you would have performed had you not been injured.

Replacement services include:
  • Child care
  • Lawn care
  • Leaf and snow removal
  • Laundry
  • Housekeeping
  • Non-medical transportation
  • Shopping for and delivery of groceries







EQUIPMENT

Specialty Evaluations to evaluate/assess equipment and make recommendations may be completed as requested, referred, and/or prescribed by physician.  

Equipment evaluations will be completed by singular or multi-disciplinary therapy teams, as appropriate, to provide comprehensive assessment. A report and/or letter of recommendation will be generated, outlining all considerations to accommodate a client's needs as related to the diagnosis(es) and their rehabilitation/recovery.

Adaptive equipment evaluations completed have /may include the following:
  • Wheelchair
  • Shower Chair / Transfer Tub Bench
  • Commode
  • Bed/ Mattress
  • Recreational Vehicles (ATV, tractor)
  • Adaptive Cycles 
  • Other recreational /Leisure tools & gear (hunting, fishing)

SCHOOL

MI Rehab Solutions' multi-disciplinary team may assist with school re-integration, collaborating with school staff/administrators related to considerations for accommodations, including both physical and cognitive supports and strategies, as appropriate, as well as school - related therapy needs to ensure academic success in coordination with medical rehabilitation therapies, services.

  • 504 Plan

WORK

MI Rehab Solutions' multi-disciplinary team may assist with community re-integration. This may include work re-entry and jobsite evaluations, collaborating with workplace supervisors related to considerations for accommodations, including both physical and cognitive supports and strategies, as appropriate.
